I always have fun with Tira – we went out to shoot some pretty pics for her main squeeze to take with him when he goes to his internship to the Mayo Clinic in March. Yeah, mega impressive. So we had to be as impressive as neuro-pathology. I think we came close.
Last night Matt had to speak to me like I was a child because I couldn’t seem to understand the concept of a pretzel loaf. “Are you going to boil the entire loaf?” “Yes.” “….are you going to shape the loaf like one big pretzel?” “No, it’s going to be like the pretzel rolls I did a while back.” “but it’s just going to be one big one instead of a bunch of little ones?” “yes” “…ok”
I don’t know why it was so hard for me to understand. But he did boil the entire loaves (2 of them) so our stove looks like it’s been covered in ocean water for a month (although it’s baking soda residue, not salt)
This morning I woke up a little earlier than usual and took some pics of the bread. Then cut in to it. Holy mother of all that is right in this world, it’s the best bread I’ve ever tasted. Soft, almost velvet in the center – the outside has that wonderful chewiness that you’d expect from a pretzel and the smell is like a mixture of caramel, yeast, and…(hold on, I have to go smell it again…) earth. It’s got an earthy aroma. Amazing – I think I need another piece just to be sure.
Getting married in July – rocking out engagement portraits in February. Devan and Danny are terribly cute and such a great, easy-going couple. I really enjoyed my time with them and am glad that besides a few snotty kisses, they enjoyed themselves despite the cold winds! Here are my top 5 and become a fan on Facebook to see 15 more!

Actually, it’s Friday bread, but Matt makes it on Thursday nights. Our house fills with that unmatched scent of bread baking every Thursday night around 11p.m. He makes two loaves – one to keep and one to take in to work. So every Friday, the people at his work get homemade bread. And he tries something new every week. I’ve been documenting the last few weeks, wanting to keep better record of each bread he does. So here is a catch-up post and in the future, I will post every Friday on the previous night’s bread.

Cutest patoot I’ve seen all year. I’m blogging baby shoots again – I stopped for a while because I don’t feel it’s my forte. In fact, I kinda draw the line at 6 months and older because frankly, I feel very helpless if your baby can’t sit up on its own. Plus I’m not really into the Anne Geddes’ style of baby posing and I haven’t discovered a better way to do it so until then, I’ll take the 6 months and older so we can actually play and get some giggles going :)
